Members submit their stories for other members to critique. There are a few simple rules for members to comply with before they can submit stories. All stories are sent to the critique group's moderator who circulates them to all members via e-mail. See submission procedures for further details. Guidelines on how to write a critique exist (resources) but the only restriction on the format of a critique is that it must never be personal against the author and the story critique itself should always be constructive and helpful. Being kind to our fellow members does not stop members being honest. Please do not crit each other's crits. We use Yahoo Groups to make communication as simple as possible. SS_group_MAIN@yahoogroups.com is used only for Story distribution and for members' Critiques. There are one or two other exceptions that include the weekly update and other group notices. We have a very active chat group where you can chat to each other about anything you like. You can also use this Update to have your say by contacting the Group Administrator Rules There are a few simple rules All stories remain the copyright of the author and must not be distributed to any third party without the express permission of the author Stories are distributed by the critique group moderator To have a story distributed a member must make regular critique of other members' stories. As a guideline, one crit per week average Back to top Submission Procedures All stories are sent to the Critique group moderator in an e-mail stating the number of words. The number or words guideline is a maximum of 2500 words although there is room for reasonable flexibility. The moderator maintains a submission list with approximate dates for circulation to members. The list is included in the weekly update. There are two alternative methods of inclusion on the submission list. Either a members sends in their story and the moderator assigns the next available circulation date Or A members can request an advance circulation date. Return to top |
